Able to keep enemy pickup kit

On PRTA last night playing Ramiel INS as US, I handcuffed a Marksman (pickup kit) and got his kit to steal a patch.
I didn't get any warning like normally with enemy kits and could hold the kit unlimited if I wanted.
Not sure if known bug.
